redefining health

What if curiosity and wonder were the values by which we lived and measured our days?

For clients in Ontario or a jurisdiction where psychotherapy isn’t regulated (in Canada this is anywhere other than Ontario or Quebec) coaching can be considered psychotherapy and billed as such. Otherwise, it will be considered meditation and mindfulness coaching and for all intents and purposes be happening in Ontario.

Depending on an individual’s circumstances, online psychotherapy, including meditation and mindfulness may not be appropriate for or support an immediate relief of complex grief, acute anxiety, chronic depression or severe psychiatric illness.

If someone has the motivation and resources to work consistently with a skilled meditation and mindfulness coach and therapist, the relationship can be a valuable addition to an existing circle of support.

Meditation and mindfulness coaching can also provide a rich transitional bridge either to or from deeper psychotherapeutic work. It can support broader life transitions such as precipitous goal achievement, becoming a parent or supporting children leaving home, career change, large moves, downsizing, aging, illness, divorce, retirement or end of life.

Over time, our sense of who we are and what our lives are about tends to change. Sometimes the shifts are subtle and happen gradually. Just as often, things can change overnight.

Meditation and mindfulness fall within a spectrum of contemplative practices that seem to have been expertly crafted to support our capacity for navigating life’s unfolding with wisdom, grace, humility, and ease.

This is both the stuff of sacred texts and the art of adulthood.

As a mindfulness coach and Registered Psychotherapist (CRPO), Kara works with individuals seeking to maturely integrate authentic experiences of personhood within the broad and granular brushstrokes of their lives.
