mindfulness for modern living

Resilience Wisdom Wonder

WHERE TO BEGIN

Whether you are looking to start a mindfulness practice, to more fully integrate an existing practice, or to incorporate mindfulness into an existing therapeutic journey, I would love to hear from you.

To see if working together feels like a good fit please reach out: kara@karabraun.health and we can schedule a short video call to discuss.

I offer 90-minute virtual sessions (typically on Zoom) for $189.

Psychotherapist meeting with a client, sharing positivity and exploring mindfulness.

Mindfulness training and therapy will look different for everyone.

I schedule 90-minute sessions so that we have a good amount to work and not feel rushed.

The first few sessions will typically be about getting to know each other. I will want to hear what life is like for you at this time and to get a sense of your routines, relationships, and responsibilities.

I will welcome knowing:

  • your general health history including past and current injury, trauma, and psychological or psychiatric diagnosis and treatment

  • values around food, medication, money, activism, creativity, fitness, body-work, and alternative therapies

  • current state of wellbeing related to culture, spirituality, relationships, money, global affairs

  • key relationships; parents, children, work, community

  • time outdoors

  • time on devices

  • how you are currently balancing caring for yourself with caring for others

WHAT TO EXPECT

Consistency is important for building any habit. Time and frequency are client-directed, and based on your goals we can decide how often to meet. I generally recommend planning for a minimum of 6 to 8 sessions to establish a mindfulness practice (and working together for longer periods of time will allow for deeper insights).

Think of me as your personal mindfulness trainer/assistant — If you want to check in 4 days/week (for anywhere from 20 - 90 minutes), we can make that happen.

Clients experience tremendous value in meeting virtually rather than in-person. When we meet online, you’re in your space and you have the opportunity to immediately integrate everything we’ve done into your real life.

I’ve been training and working online for a decade, and I’m very confident in my capacity to create therapeutic space in a virtual setting.
